The second-generation of the Toyota Echo nameplate has a new name Yaris. This latest line-up makes sure to keep up with the sole ambition of Toyota Motors Corporation of producing quality and basic transportation. For 2008, it is available in two different body styles- Liftback and Sedan. Both interior and exterior segment of the sub compact car boasts extraordinary improvements along with great looks. Along with the sophisticated exterior styling, Yaris is already making news for its upscale interior cabin.
Seating
The seating arrangement of both the models enhances comfort ability and convenience for at least five adult passengers. The interior segment of the car is well equipped with sports seats and upholstered soft fabric that seems to be exclusively beautiful. The driving seat can be adjusted to create enough legroom and headspace. The split fold feature in the rear seat provides ample space to stretch your legs, while you travel on a long journey. The seat cover has an exclusive sports fabric that accentuates the interior cabin making it look more appealing and elegant. While the car races with speed on the roads, the comfortable seats ensure a quiet and smooth ride in the all-new Toyota Yaris. Also along with the seats there are two-cup holders in the front row and one cup holder in the rear-seating row.
Comfort and convenience features
The standard convenience features available on both the Liftback and Sedan models include air conditioning, tilt steering wheel, a gated shift lever, tinted glass, digital clock, a map light, intermittent windshield wipers with mist control and dual sunvisors with vanity mirrors. To reflect the elegance and style the interior segment has an amber-lit Optitron instrument display with analogue read-outs. For convenience the cabin is accented with climate control air conditioning with pollen filter, Smart Entry and Start system, a reach and rake-adjustable steering column, electrically adjustable door mirrors and front fog lamps. Both Yaris models provide easy-to-reach audio and climate controls, an array of storage spaces including a center console with built-in storage and cup holders in the front and rear. Apart from all these, there are a number of optional features also.
Cargo Space
The Liftback models can accommodate bulkier cargo as compared to the sedan's trunk. The Yaris Sedan has a good-sized trunk and a 60/40-split backseat that can be folded down to extend the overall cargo space into a wide cabin. The cargo capacity extends from 9.3 cubic feet to 25.7 cubic feet. Both Yaris models have an array of storage spaces in the interior cabin, including a center console with built-in storage and cup holders in the front and rear. For a small car, Yaris has adequate cargo space arrangement.
Entertainment
The models are lacking in the entertainment section. There are no standard features, however to cope with the expectations of the people, there are two optional entertainment equipments, such as AM/FM CD player with MP3/WMA playback capability with auxiliary audio jack and integrated AM/FM CD player with MP3/WMA playback capability, auxiliary audio jack and LCD display screen. The models even do not have a navigation system, not even as an optional feature.
It will not be wrong to say that even though the car is lacking behind in some aspects, yet it stands up to user's expectation that prefer a smaller car.
